Drama in the Pool Bath

We are so excited about the results of this bathroom remodel.  It’s creative and functional and the clients love it!  It all started with the need for a practical bathroom on the main floor of the home.  The home’s pool is a great draw for family time and the grandchildren; however, the main floor powder room had no shower and was not directly accessible to the pool.  The laundry room had a sliding door opening to the pool area.  With the decision to move the laundry to a closet of the master bath, the main floor laundry became the perfect space for a pool bath.  The remodeling project replaced the sliding door, removed a linen closet, and redrafted plans for a shower, toilet and vanity to finish the space.  Materials were selected for a practical approach but drama came from the caramel colored onyx vanity top and the cobalt blue mosaic tiles.  Open glass spaciousness was achieved by a window opening in the shower wall and large glass shower doors.  The large mirrored wall above the vanity also helped to expand space.  Vertical bamboo panels were used for the vanity doors and drawers.  The “Zen” feeling was complimented by a smooth natural stone pebble floor in the shower.  Staggered robe hooks help wet swim suits to drip dry in the shower after a family swimming party.  Reflection is the rest of the story as one sees the pool’s landscape reflected in the mirror… a fun “treat” in what the grandchildren believe is a bathroom created especially for them.
