Tuscan-Inspired Family Room
The client for this project envisioned a lower level family room and entertainment space reminiscent of Tuscany. This space is all about texture and drama. Faux paint on the walls and cabinets give the large space a cozy and Old World look, while providing a quieter elegant ambiance. A special area that suggests a charming wine cellar was created from the hidden space found under the stairs. An iron artist was employed to create the arched area of the bar wall, the railings of the staircase and the wine cellar door. Stone floors provide a hint of the materials seen throughout Italy and create a pathway to the patio. Large windows and a glass sliding door help to bring the beautiful outdoor landscaping in. The space is finished off with many details including the addition of a fireplace, serving nooks, built-in shelving, new faux textured columns and architectural detail lighting.
