Making the Most

of a Tiny Space

Bathroom Redesign

A cramped, outdated bathroom was the starting point for this project. The client wanted to transform it into a luxurious open bathroom. Bathroom RedesignShe also asked for a higher ceiling to make the space feel larger. Could it be done?

The ceiling in this bathroom was originally 7’ high. Because of ducting and plumbing in the ceiling, we were only able to raise the ceiling in the shower. We used other techniques to create vertical lines to make the space appear larger. Removing the tub allowed us to create a large walk-in shower with a window to visually elongate the space.

Warm, neutral materials make the bathroom serene and calming. The beautiful vessel sink with the tree of life design features gold and metal accents. The mosaic tiles create unity with the metallic materials, and make this spa-like bathroom come to life.

The shower provides relaxation and convenience, with a hand-held shower head, rain shower head, and easily accessible controls located near the entrance of the shower.

Balance bars are disguised as towel bars and are installed at code height for safety. Waterproof recessed lighting was added to provide better illumination.
As a final touch, we added a teak corner shower bench. It brings warmth to this bathroom renovation, and provides a practical accent for our client or her guests to use.
